Contact lens is a wonderful invention for mankind. To use it well, we need to learn what is the correct way of using it. Here are some advices what to do and what not to do.<\/p>\n

Good habits = healthy eyes…. particularly when it comes to contact lenses. Whether you\u2019re new to contact lenses or have been wearing them for a while, below are some helpful tips to maintain safe, comfortable and healthy contact lens wear<\/p>\n

DO’S<\/strong>
\nDO stick to the wearing schedule prescribed by your optometrist and replace your contact
\nlenses as directed<\/p>\n

DO clean, rinse, and disinfect your contact lenses with fresh solution each time you
\nremove them. Always remember to use fresh solution. Do not\u201d top-up\u201dwhat\u2019s already in the case<\/p>\n

DO remove your lenses and consult your optometrist immediately if your eyes become
\nred, irritated, or your vision changes suddenly<\/p>\n

DO empty and rinse your lens case, after use, with fresh solution and allow the lens case to
\nair dry. Change your case every 1-3 months<\/p>\n

DO always handle your lenses with clean, dry hands. Wash, rinse, and dry your hands
\nthoroughly with a lint-free towel before touching your lenses<\/p>\n

DO insert your contact lenses before applying makeup and remove your lenses before
\nwashing off makeup. Use any moisturising products after you have handled your contact
\nlenses<\/p>\n

DO have a pair of current spectacles to use in case you cannot wear your contact lenses<\/p>\n

DO have a pair of good sunglasses to protect your eyes and eyelids from the sun\u2019s harmful
\nrays<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

DON’TS
\n<\/strong>
\nDON\u2019T “stretch” your lens wear beyond its intended use. Never wear daily disposable
\nlenses longer than one day. Never wear your lenses beyond what your optometrist
\nrecommends<\/p>\n

DON\u2019T use saliva, tap water, or anything other than fresh contact lens solutions for
\nlubricating, rewetting, and\/or cleaning your lenses<\/p>\n

DON\u2019T let the tip of solution bottles touch other surfaces \u2013 including your fingers, eyes or
\ncontact lenses<\/p>\n

DON\u2019T share your contact lenses with others<\/p>\n

DON\u2019T be stingy with your lens solution and try to reuse solution. Always use fresh
\nsolution to rinse, clean, and store your lenses<\/p>\n

DON\u2019T expose your contact lenses to any kind of water; it can lead to eye infection and even vision loss<\/p>\n

DON\u2019T change the brand of contact lens solution unless recommended by your
\noptometrist. Not all solutions are the same.<\/p>\n

DON’T wear your contacts when you’re sick<\/p>\n

DON\u2019T sleep or nap in your contact unless prescribed & monitored by your optometrist<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
